Who is behind DEADCELL?
Marcus Bodine (founder, vocals, guitars, compositions, production)
Therion69 (VJ/backing vocals)
If you had to put your music into a drawer and print a label on it, what would it say?
How would you describe the sound of DEADCELL to a deaf person?
Loud, rhythmical & intense
Which sort of panic creates the best songs?
Lots of screaming and fists in the air. A DEADCELL show is very intense.
Which instrument will surely NEVER be heard an a DEADCELL-album?
Any instrument can be heard on a DEADCELL album. I like to push musical boundaries & avoid restrictions.
Which record would you want to listen to when you leave bath in the morning, while the beautiful girl from last night is still in your bed?
I don’t want to wake up my 3 month old son, so I don’t listen to music in the morning.
Which song would you be proud of, had you written it?
I take pride in writing my own music. Absolutely hate covering other people’s songs. So I wouldn’t take any pride in having written someone else‘ song. That just ain’t me.
No alcohol is surely NOT the answer – after which combination of booze all your problems will have dissolved?
Luckily i don’t have any problems in my life at the moment, but booze tends to ease my overactive mind. Beer always works.
What shows you a true friend?
Someone I can rely on. And someone who brings positive energy. I learned to surround myself with strong, down-to-earth, balanced people.
I’m allergic to people who always feel sorry for themselves.
Who was the hero of your childhood?
Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Jake ‚The Snake‘ Roberts, Dr Love & the guy with the big glasses at the carnival rollercoaster.
Are we alone out there?
No. I’m 100% sure that there’s an afterlife, since I’ve had so many experiences to prove it.
What’s next? Tour? Studio? Vacation? Something completely different?
Always working & looking for new challenges in music. At the moment we’ve started working on the 6th DEADCELL album.
And we’re planning on touring in 2014.
